Yale Cellists Perform at the 91st Oxford & Cambridge Boat Race Dinner

On May 24th, 2025, the Yale community was proud to be represented at the prestigious 91st Oxford & Cambridge Boat Race Dinner, held at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club. This annual tradition brought together alumni and friends of Oxford, Cambridge, and peer institutions for an evening of celebration and camaraderie.

A highlight of the night was the captivating performance by Low Strung, a cello ensemble composed of Yale alumni. Their modern arrangements for all-cello interpretations added a unique and elegant atmosphere to the evening, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience.

We're thrilled to share that over $500 was raised during the event in support of the Low Strung group—a testament to the generosity of our community and the appreciation for the arts.

The evening also featured remarks from Guest of Honour George Hungerford, OC, OBC, an Olympic gold medalist and celebrated Canadian community leader, who shared reflections on sport, resilience, and leadership.

Special thanks to the Vancouver Oxford and Cambridge Society for hosting such a memorable event. And to Viann and our fellow Yale Club members—thank you for capturing the evening in photos and spirit.

Stay tuned for more upcoming events and performances from our talented alumni!
